- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared more details about their time in Canada after a visit with the High Commissioner of Canada House on Tuesday.
- Meghan revealed that the couple's son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, loved looking at the Canadian scenery surrounding them during their two-month stay.
Now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are officially back in the public eye after a two-month-long break from royal duties, the couple are graciously sharing a few details regarding some of their favorite moments spent together as a family in Canada.
Before leaving their visit this morning at Canada House in London, the royal couple was seen in a video shared by BAZAAR.com royal editor Omid Scobie taking a moment to pose for photos with Canada House officials, as well as share a few tidbits about what made their Canadian vacation so special.
“Thank you so much, not that any of you had that much to do with it, but the warmth and hospitality we were shown while there was unbelievable, and that’s exactly why we chose Canada,” said Prince Harry to the crowd. He then made a joke before introducing Duchess Meghan, saying, “We hope to see you all soon. My wife will now finish in French,” ensuing a round of laughter from the group.

“I just want to say happy New Year and thank you, and as my husband said, my goodness, it was just such an incredible time that we were able to have there and with our son too,” Meghan said. The duchess continued to highlight the hospitality that Canadians had shown her and Harry, and even mentioned the couple’s son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, and his enjoyment of the Canadian landscape also.
“Just to be able to take in the warmth that we experience from the people but also to walk around and to see the beauty of Canada and to see Archie go ‘gasp’ when we walked around, to see how stunning it is … it’s meant a lot to us. It was important for us to start our year here [at Canada House] and say thank you.”
The couple’s visit to Canada House marks their first royal appearance of 2020.
